CIGARHUBThe Social Vitola
Vol. 1, No. 214
The lounge as a third place — notes on why we keep coming back to the same worn leather chair.
The Third Place
Sociologists have a name for the spaces that are neither home nor work: the third place. For our community, it's the lounge.
It's the worn leather chair. The nod from the regular by the window. The unspoken agreement that here, at least, there is no hurry.
What a good lounge gives you
- Belonging without obligation. You can talk, or you can just sit.
- A shared language. Vitolas, wrappers, the slow theater of the cut and the light.
- Time that expands. An hour here feels like three, in the best way.
"The cigar is the excuse. The company is the point."
Building it online
CigarHub's lounges carry that same spirit into the digital world — a place to gather, trade stories, and keep the ember glowing between visits.
Pull up a chair. This is edition one of many.
Welcome to The Social Vitola.
